Lawson White
Designed for AFL player Luke Parker, former co-captain of the Sydney Swans, and his partner, interior decorator Kate Lawrence, this coastal duplex in Matraville was made to feel like home from the moment you arrive.
It combines efficiency with elegance. Space, light and detail are carefully considered, so the interiors feel calm and inviting. Natural timber entry doors, sandstone garden walls and pale stone benches set a relaxed coastal palette against crisp white walls, and timber joinery carries through the kitchen and living areas. The result is an easy, light-filled sanctuary that balances everyday function with quiet beauty.
Making an efficient duplex plan feel relaxed, generous and coastal, with a strong sense of arrival and plenty of natural light.

What are you
thinking about?
Start with the site and how you want to live.

What needs
to go right?
Cost belongs in the design conversation from the beginning.

What needs
resolving?
No polished brief required. One honest question will do.
What's
your style?
A reference is enough. There is no right answer.

Start with
one question.
Tell me what you are considering, what matters and where you need clarity.
I read these myself. You will be speaking with me, not a mysterious enquiry department.

Design &
construction
should speak.
Arkhaus is a residential design studio where ideas and making are considered as one. Beautiful homes should be as resolved in thought as they are in execution.
"A strong idea should survive the way it is built"

Experience
changes the
way you see.
Led by Fernando Banales, Arkhaus draws on 24 years in architecture and construction. Trained in architecture. Registered builder. Designer by instinct.
Our practice & projects are supported by NOX, a project management platform designed to streamline communication, coordinate decisions and maintain visibility across every stage of the process.
"Knowing how things are made changes how you design them"

The site
knows.
Every home starts with what is already there. Light. Aspect. Landscape. Privacy. Material. The way you want to live.
We listen before we draw.

Beautiful.
Logical.
Built.
Good residential design is often an exercise in restraint. Fewer gestures. Better proportions. Materials with purpose. Details that feel inevitable.
Design first. Site led. Beautifully resolved.
